Passport Apply Online | Registration | Documents Required

In Today’s time, Passport becoming an essential document and can be used as an Identity Proof for many purposes. Now a days, its very simple and easy to make passport as the almost process has been made via Online method. Central Government have made it mandatory to apply Online for Passport, after that one has to visit the passport office with the required documents.

Documents Required for Passport Apply:

  • Voter Id Card/Driving License/ Aadhaar Card/Marksheet will be required for Birth Proof.
  • Aadhaar Card/Bank Passbook/Ration Card/Electricity Bill will be required for Resident Proof.
  • Applicant’s Photograph.
  • Affidavit having mentioned that Applicant is a citizen of India and have no criminal record.

Fee for Passport Apply:-
  • Rs 1500 to 2000 for Normal Passport.
  • Rs 3500 for Tatkal or Emergency Passport.
  • Rs 500 for Police Verification Certificate.
There are other charges/fee applied as per required like No. of pages (36 or 60), for Reissuing the passport,to make any changes to the Passport, for damaged or stolen passport.

Rates/Fee are different for different scenarios.

Register on Passport Seva Portal:-
If you want to register yourself on Passport Seva Portal via Online process, follow the below steps:-
  • Click on the “New User Registration” link, you will be redirected to below page.

  • Under Passport Office Section, Select the “City” name.
  • Enter your name and surname in next column.
  • Enter your DOB and Email Id.
  • In the next column, you have to choose whether you wish to make your email id as your Login Id or not? If you want then click on Yes , if not then choose the No option.
  • Next option is to create your Login Id and Password. Make sure to check the availability while creating the User Id and Password. 
  • Now next option is for “Hint Question”. Select any question from drop down as per your wish and enter the answer in the next column.
  • Enter the security code.
  • Click on “Register” button.
  • As soon as you click on “Register” button, an activation link has been sent to your email Id, click on that link. 
  • In this way your registration process has been completed successfully. 
Apply for a Passport:-
Once the registration process completed, visit the homepage of the website and Login on the portal using Login Id and Password created while registration process.

  • You will see an option of “Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport” on the main page. Click on that option.
  • Now you have to option :- 1) First one is to download the application form and fill the same and then upload the same online. 2) Second one is to fill the application form online.
  • Once you select the option (2nd one will be preferred), a new page will open having few options (New Passport, Reissue Passport, Tatkal Passport etc.), you have to choose the one of them.
  • Once you made the choice, choose the one and click on next button.
  • Fill all the asked information and submit the application form.
  • Application Number will be appear on your mobile screen.

  • Now you have to choose the option “Pay and Schedule Appointment”.
  • On the next page, you have to choose the nearest Passport Center, Date and time for Visiting.
  • Now fill the captcha Code and click on next  button.
  • On the next page, you have to choose the Pay and Book Appointment option.
  • Make the payment  and take the print out of Application Receipt.
  • Visit the Passport Office with mandatory documents and Application receipt on scheduled date and time.
  • Once the Verification process will be done, you will get your passport.
